The Eustachian tubes connect the middle ear to the back of the nose and upper throat. Their function is to equalize ear pressure and drain fluid from the middle ear. They typically open and close when one is swallowing or yawning. However, these tubes can sometimes become blocked, contributing to a condition called Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD). ETD can often be associated with symptoms like recurring ear infections, ear pressure and discomfort, or muffled hearing.
Here at Palm Springs Breathe Free, our team is trained to diagnose and treat several ENT conditions, including ETD.
